My name is Melissa McIntyre and I started training dogs when I was 13 years old. My first dog was a cute and loveable beagle, but what beagle isn’t, right…  She was a great dog that taught me more then I could have ever taught her.  “Katie” loved showing in junior showmanship and breed but wasn’t as trilled with obedience but did it anyway.  Together we earned her AKC CD and competed in Junior Showmanship, Breed and Obedience in AKC and in open obedience, Junior Showmanship, Brace and Team in 4-H.

Yes, it was the '80s, with the big hair :)

Several years later I got my first German lines German Shepherd Dog, a solid black male named “Shiloh”, Olympia’s Shiloh Schwartz Bar, unofficially AKC CD- we had accidentally showed under the same judge twice, oops…  Unfortunately he was dysplastic by age 1, had seizures, and had fear aggression issues even though he was well socialized and trained.  At the age of 5 I had to put him down due to the increasing seizures and aggression issues, it was one of the hardest things I ever had to do...

 
I fell in love with German Shepherd Dogs as a young child; I was impressed by their loyalty, power, and incredible beauty. I had been without a dog for almost 10 years when I found “Logan”, Int. CH, UCH, UCD FO Jaryn von der Dornburg SchH 1, TR 2, AD, CDX, TD, Can CD, OV, RE, RL1, TDI, CGC. I searched long and hard for a high quality schutzhund dog and I was thrilled to find Laurie Tollifson of Dornburg kennels in Texas.  I knew right away I wanted a puppy from this litter.  Logan’s mom, Isa von der Kinzigau SchH3 Kkl1'a' lbz, had her SchH 3 by the time she was 2 years old and had been bred to Rocky von den Zinglegärten SchH3 IP3, FH1 Kkl1'a', in Germany.  Logan’s sire had competed on the world team for Germany and was well known for producing high quality working dogs.  Both dogs come from hard core working lines....
